I'm searching out a tonneau cover for my '89 Dakota long bed, and what I've found on ebay so far are ones for 97-00 models. Think a 2nd gen Dakota tonneau will fit? It's the snap on vinyl kind with a clamp on channelled aluminum frame.

 

I have wondered about this myself. (I have a 87 LB) FWIW I have heard that the bed liner for a 2nd gen. dakota will work in a 1st. If you end up trying it, please post back and let us know how it went.

 

I have a set for a Gen I short bed...Was stored under an older gentleman's bed for 15 years, so it saw very little use. Has the rails, clamps and snap on cover. Would be prohibitive to ship, but if anyone gets my way, I'd sell it.

I just found one on ebay that's supposed to fit a 1st gen, wound up paying 135 bucks for it after the 15% discount promo they got going on today.
