No more Smokin1994??
My forum name says it all...after a lengthy drive my 1994 3.9 will blow oil smoke out the exhaust.
At 207k, a former scrap truck it makes sense. The former owner beat on this thing with little maintenance.
A while back I scored some Valvoline 20w-50 for $1 a quart.
Last oil change in April, I used the heavy weight in the 3.9
No more smoke! Hauling in 90+ degree heat, extensive idling, no smoke.
Anyway, with fall coming and then winter in Northern Illinois I will have to go back to 5w-30,
but it was nice not having to add oil during the summer!!
