Default What size/type screws are used to reattach the knee bolster?

I had to remove my knee bolster and dash bezel recently and somehow I lost the two screws that screw the bolster into place.

I know there are two screws about 2 inches long that screw the hood release latch into the knee bolster - I still have those. I just have no idea what size the other two screws are.

Should be able to find the identical screws on the passenger side no? If not I can go check mine.

I'll go take a look right now. I can't believe I didn't think of that!

so as luck would have it there's only one screw on the passenger side, I don't know what happened with the other ones they must have been removed before I took possession of the truck. But the one remaining screw is super tight and I can't get it loose - and I'm not sure I want to; I don't want to risk the half dash potentially coming down. If you could check yours, that would be awesome.

phillips head 0.75" from top to bottom, 0.5" wide head, 0.16" diameter threads which works out to about 5/32 ? Granted there were some mismatched screws in both my Dakotas but those seem to be the originals haha...no guarantees...

Okay so I got the correct screws from hardware and I attempted to put the knee bolster back in place but for some reason the screws won't take, they're not biting. I don't know what the problem is. I had previously removed and replaced the knee bolster several times so maybe that has something to do with it.

Are they just sheet metal screws, and holes in the metal framing for the dash? Or are there supposed to be the little steel clips that they screw into?
