Default Cannot reattach glove box ****

When I bought this 94 Dakota, the glove box **** was off and the previous owner didn't remember what happened. I recently found the black metal **** that goes on top of that but I'm unable to reattach it. I would think that it would just snap into place but there doesn't seem to be a way for it to do so. Is there another part potentially missing here?

When I stick the key into the exposed silver locking mechanism it still turns & works so it still functions like it should, I just want to know how to reattach the black **** because it looks tacky with it missing. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Depends on what else may be missing.

Thankfully, we have the parts list in the FAQ in the stickies at the top of this subform; equally thankfully, the design is the same 1987-1996, so either the 1995 or the 1996 FSM will help for this part.

(Grab the 1995; it's the closest to your 1994, and really REALLY handy to have!)

I opened the 94-96 parts book and scrolled around. Looks like page 266 has the glove box parts for an N body. I guess if you have the program you can search the PDF

Some of the PDF files are just scans of the actual manual. Some are laid out better than others..... some are searchable, have a clickable index, and sub-sections, etc. Others.... well, not so much.

"The program" I use is Foxit PDF reader. That, and read index / think / go to where I think it is / cuss because not right / read index / go again.

Thank you for that. I went directly there and it lists the relevant part numbers, but not really any illustrations for that particular item.

Make sure I picked teh right one to look at. I also looked at teh earlier 93 [parts book and there was a blow out pic on page 297 of the glove box parts.
