I was planning on having the frame extended and reinforced so I could mount the 8' bed correctly, that's why I wanted the frame under the bed with it, that way I could have it welded to my extended cab frame.

The difference between the two is only 12" (wheelbase) even though the long bed adds 18" due to where the length was added. The only real way to do it is by adding the correct amount of the correct frame, and even then I would reinforce it a lot in the center where the two frames were merged.
