This is the Durango section. That being said, it's like a 5/16 or 8mm bolt going into aluminum. A little more than snug is what they need, and make sure it's sitting even on the gasket.

Though I don't know, I just read it's an 87. It'll be different than what we have. Just need to post or have it moved to the 1sr gen Dakota section.

87 FSM says 200 in. lbs. But I got to tell you, I have never torqued a thermostat housing. Not a bad idea to do it though....

Okay, 1st off, I apologize if my post is in the wrong section, I thought I was in the 1st generation part of the forum. Across the top of my screen is displays: DodgeForum.com>Dodge Trucks>Dodge Dakota>1st Gen Dakota Tech> and them my question about the torque specs. I am not sure how to move the post or get it in the right place.
What exactly is FSM? Is that a Factory Service Manual?? I'm not very tech savvy. The counter person at Autozone didn't find the torque specs for the thermostat housing in his database but suggested 110 inch pounds which prompted my quest for the OEM recommendation. YouTube wasn't very helpful either. Seems to be a big mystery.

Your post has already been moved at this point, it's no longer in the Durango section. So you're good there. Yes FSM is factory service manual so 200 inch lbs should work. Noones mad at you or anything, we're just trying to help out.

First off, let me say Welcome to the forum!! Hopefully you will become an active member on here!
FSM does stand for factory service manual. You may want to purchase one, especially if you work on the truck yourself. Check ebay for used.....
Below are pictures I took of the manual and the t-stat install section.
