Default Rim size unknown

Hey was needing some help figuring out what the rim size is so I can but new tires but I don’t really know what it is actually I know as of right now it has 30.5x10.5R15 tires on it but I am needing to know true rim size. As I’m certain the rims are bigger than 15’s and I know you can mount a size smaller rim size if needed to do so . is there any way of figuring this out without popping the bead and measuring it with string and measuring the string out . Hopefully I’m making sense.

They are 15" wheels. 15" x 8" I think.

If the tire is a 15" tire, the true rim size is a 15" diameter.

As to width - they do make calipers to measure that; shucks, they're supposed to measure that and key that into the spin balancers! Ask the local tire shop to measure for you.

But as tbugden said, 15" and probably 8" wide with those tires on it.

Ok thanks for yalls help. my reason for asking is because my dad has a Durango and his rims are 16’s and they look exactly like the ones I have I didn’t know if there were any markings or something to indicate the size of the rims but I’ll be going with what the tire says. P.s any suggestions on some new shoes for the truck will be appreciated

What sort of driving do you need to do? I like the Cooper AT3 for a good overall all terrain. The Goodyear Duratracs and the BFGs are a bit more aggressive and also extremely popular.

Tbh I really wanna get aggressive tire because I like to go off roading/ trial hunting like finding a old path and see where it leads off to but also like to still retain that drivablty and street quality. I like the ones I got on now but really wanna try a different pair of shoes and see how I like them so I’m pretty open to suggestions

Those wheels were never made in 16", the 16" that resembles these is slighty different. The 16" come in 7 & 8" widths but AFAIK the 15" you have all come in 8" only.

Well I really like my Cooper Discoverer AT3s but it sounds like you want something more aggressive than that. BFG K02s are a time tested favorite.

Those rims are 15inch rim , 8inches wide, bolt pattern 6x4.5. Dakotas can fit anywhere from 205/70r15s to 235/75r15 tires stock and lifted can fit 31 10.5 15 so you have a decent selection to match your needs
On the other aluminum/alloy rims the width is really all that changes, they can usually fit 7-9 inch wide rims/tires
i recommend General grabber ATXs, I have AT2s on my 2wd 91 dak and I love them but the ATXs are slightly more agressive. Otherwise my other recommendation is Falcon Wildpeak AT3Ws, very reliable and good for the truck while being reasonably priced
