I think it’s a little sad there’s not even a sub form for these trucks but I know there probably not many people with them and some day it’s going to happen to the dakotas 1st gen especially unless people like us keep them alive

I'll keep my truck for the next 50 years if possible. If I crash it it'll get rebuilt again. If it gets rusted out again, which I doubt, see the threads I've started on my project, I'll fix it. This motor has 209k on it, same with the trans, next summer I'll build a new motor and trans and do some performance goodies. But I can guarantee I'll get at least 60k or more out of this motor still. Funny thing is this truck never went over 45mph. It was his farm truck and he only used it as a work truck on his farm and ranch and to drive back and forth between the 2. Kindve impressive really.

I saw one of the Ram 50's on craigslist here, that was in pretty much perfect condition, with under 100K miles on it, and the ad was only asking 1200 for it. I responded to the ad about five minutes after it was posted (got lucky) but, never heard back from the seller. Still can't decide if it was just a scam, or if someone else beat me to it. Woulda been a great 'drive to work' truck.

I think a tuned port 305, and 700R4 would be awesome in that little truck. I don't think the straight six would fit.

My first gen D50 is definitely smaller than my 94 Dak. Some guys put V8's in the D50's, apparently there is plenty of room. They came with 2.0, 2.3 and 2.6 motors and a diesel motor which may be that 2.3. Those diesel's are like hens teeth. They are the same as Mitsubishi Mighty Max, made in the same place too.

The D50 was made by Mitsubishi, for Dodge.

Quick spelling lesson.

Mitsubishi <> Toyota.

Do notice they're not even spelled the same.

My bad bro I wasn’t edjewmakted ( do your best redneck impression or sound like Larry the cable guy) like some yer folks but if I’m not mistaken D50, Hilux 88-97 and the mighty maxx are based off the same platform/body style plus I’m sure somebody looked past my mistake and understood what I meant if the read the posts before hand
