Default 2nd gen lift on 1st gen dakota?

I have a 93 dakota 4x4 that i want to lift, but i cant find a lift kit for a first gen dakota. Ive worked on 2nd gens at the shop, and the front suspension lookes exacly the same as in my first gen. Does anyone know why a 2nd gen lift wont work. Here is a pic of mine.

Besides they're different parts? Different spindles, different control arms?

*shrug* Make notes, and don't try to avoid cussing too much.

I can tell you, I attempted to use a 97 upper control arm on my 87..... The main difference is the dia. of the ball joint stud. The frame mounts looked the same, and the length looked the same, but I did not measure.
