What is the best way to thoroughly clean the throttle body on my 1988 Dakoat 3.9 V6?
I have sprayed throttle body cleaner and wiped down the walls with a clean rag up under the injectors.
Take it off the engine, remove the IAC, use carb cleaner, or throttle body cleaner.... and some small brushes to clean it up. Takes some time, patience, and a two-dollar gasket. (providing you don't break anything pulling/installing it.)
Chem Tool sells a 1gal can of carb cleaner. It's like a paint can and they have a basket with handle in it so you can put items in to soak. As I recall my 94 TB just fit sans basket. Maybe a bit of it stood out the top. IDK what the TBI looks like but that may help you if there is serious carbon build up in the passages,
