If I have it figured out right, you're talking about the frontmost connector on the ECU? And by description, I presume a 1996? (The block is the ECU; the three connectors are, well, connectors.)

The FSM says "Special Tool 6934" . I find one possible source here https://www.toolsource.com/terminal-...-p-132779.html .

OTOH, Thomas & Betts (the manufacturer for Chyrsler Corp of that connector) uses fairly standard connectors - should be able to use something like this https://smile.amazon.com/MENKEY-Term...dp/B07ZC1V2W6/ and that'll give you extras for other connector terminals.

Busted most of the retainer tabs. Found a replacement connector on Ebay. Made my own tools (outlined previously in this thread) to remove the pins from the replacement. It worked. Might be worth your effort to go back in this thread to see what I did. Perhaps it would be useful for you.

In the end, it was my PCM that was shot...or so it appears.
I have been following you since your trip for pizza. I know you bought the wrong pin puller and that it was suppose to have two grips and yours was rounded. I think you called it a lisle tool. Sorry about the missing truck info. When I posted a response I put the info on the ' title ' line. I own a 1998 Dodge Dakota Sport V6 Magnum cub cab. Thank you for the advice.

Sorry Ralph, I put my vehicle info on the title line and it didn't appear in my post. I have a 1998 Dodge Dakota (see attached). Will the info you gave me work? I am going to explore your links in the meantime. Thanks again for your help.

It's best if you can get the correct pin puller...no doubt. Perhaps Ralph's links will lead you to the correct one. Without the correct puller I essentially had to sacrifice mine to figure out the kinds of tools I needed to cobble together. Might want to look at Ebay to see if you can get a replacement connector if you need it. Most of the connectors have the pins/wires still in them. They just lop off the harness. Makes for good practice when you go to remove them.

I classified it as surgery because that's what it was. Very meticulous. Good luck!

No doubt it is going to be time consuming. I have 3x32 connectors. What is the box that all the wires feed into called? I was hoping I could pull each wire and put them in a new plastic piece because the clips that hold the male/female together are broken and dirty. I have tried connector, housing, harness. Not finding one's that are 3 row (11/10/11). Just realized they are all black and the middle one is missing the cover, duh. I am learning from your mistakes so my wife will be the one performing the surgery. No way these sausage fingers can handle it. Lol

You may want to try in the 2nd Gen forum; I make no guarantee at all past 1996.

Women are definitely better suited for this type of work if you can talk her into it.

I downloaded the manual and this is what I need. Do you know where I can get just the harness, I don't need the wires. Thanks again for your help.

Boneyard is all I know of.

I can't find the T&B number anywhere for that connector.

Then again, there may be a T&B number on the connector. Dunno, my 1988 doesn't have a JTEC controller, so its connector is radically different.

Hmmmm,

My diagnostic is now throwing two codes. Code 41 (which is the voltage regulator problem) and now a code 46 which is,

"Battery voltage sense input above target charging voltage during engine operation. (voltage too high)"

After adjusting my regulator and last I checked I was putting out 14.55v while idling. Anything to be concerned about??
