Default Rust in radiator

Afternoon everyone, recently purchased 93 Dakota v6 magnum. It had been at an auction yard for approx 5 months. The yard said they drained the oil so it wouldnt sludge up, but they left the water in the radiator. When I checked the radiator found nothing but rusty water in it. Is there a way to flush the system without damaging the entire engine? Any help would be appreciated thanks

Best way starts with removing the radiator, pulling the drain plugs, and back flushing the block. I'd also consider new radiator and heater core (and when you tear into it to replace the heater core, do the evaporator and the blower motor ... )

You may be able to use something like the Prestone Engine Flush, running distilled water through it after each flush cycle, until it's clean and clear; then swapping to a 50/50 mix (at least 30/70 - 30% antifreeze, 70% distilled water.)
