96 dakota Crank No Start
No start problem. Check for a damaged or broken ground wire from fire wall to or near the coil. The electrical connector at the bottom of the coil may be damaged or the wires to it. I had a number of bad bad spark controllers for the distributor that I replaced . I had a bad electrical fan grounding out internally and shutting down the truck. It seemed to trip the relays. The relay was warmer than the rest. When the fan came on the truck shut down.. Unwrap all the harness bundles and inspect each. On the power large cables from the fuse box and battery cables. Mine had y splices and male/female plugs that were suspect. Also there were two wires that were suspect stiff for about 6 inches they were red and black located by the fuse box. Around 10 or 12 gauge and they come from a plug then ran low toward the engine.. I had a rub mark by/to the alternator on the power cable causing a possible intermittent short. I have been fighting this a long time. 4cyl 1995 standard. Dodge has the worst wiring I have ever worked with.
