AC lines

AC lines
So, I have been making some changes to my 87 truck, installed 2 electric fans, 92-93 relay box, etc. And I plan to do a separate thread, showing pictures etc.
But for now, I would like to ask some questions about AC lines, as I am getting ready to make my own....
I have purchased new standard barrier hose, ferrules, and 2 tees, that have a pressure switch tap. I am going to use these to bring on the fans...
But, on to my main question, Is there a difference in the fittings for standard vs reduced barrier hoses?
I know the ferrules are different....
The reason I ask, it seems the factory is 3 sizes
#12 (5/8) for the suction line. standard barrier
#8 (13/32) for the discharge line. standard barrier
#6 (5/16) for the liquid line. reduced barrier.
Bottom line, (no pun intended) I hope to be able to use the standard barrier #6 (5/16) in place of the reduced barrier the truck has now.
If not, I will need to buy more ferrules, hose, and worst of all, a new die for the crimper I have.
Making up these lines is new to me, so any advise is appreciated.
