Default 96 Dakota blower motor

Does anyone know why I would be getting power through both wires going to blower motor. Have changed resistor.

Sure!

The 12V is fed through the blower motor; the resistor is in the return path to ground. So your typical digital multimeter will show 12V on both sides with the blower plugged in.

It's kind of obvious from the wiring diagrams in the factory service manual (hint: There's a download link for the 1996 FSM in the FAQ in the sticky section at the top of this subforum ... DOWNLOAD IT. NOW.)
