I'm pretty sure you have a port, unless some jackweed cut it off. My 94 and 92 both have it. It's up by the firewall under the hood,passenger side, within around 6-8 inches of the blower motor resistor. It's a slightly irregular rectangular shape, 6 pins, but only has 4 actual wires going into it.
But yeah, an OBD II code reader isn't going to cut it. I have to hook up special adapters to my Matco Determinator to get it to communicate, You're going to be SOL at Autozone, but you can butter-up a mechanic who knows what he's doing to read the data for you. Honestly at this point, a lot of shops don't even buy the adapters for the top-of-the-line Snap-On scanners for OBD I vehicles anymore. The Determinator I have was top of the line 15 years ago. You need to find someone who has a MT2500 (Snap-On "Brick" scanner) to read it for you, almost everyone of those scanners I've seen in a shop has the Chrysler adapter..
