Fill it up and fill back up at 200 miles or so, and keep yourself safe.

Get rid of the iridium plugs. Good ol' copper plugs. These engines really don't care for the rare earth plugs. I have seen to many folks having issues with 'em.

OK Ralph. Thank You

Hey You, are you saying I can't trust Rock Auto rec they were the best quality?
I just checked before writing that they changed the way they grade them to 'Xtimes longer lasting than copper'. They have the iridium at 4x. I am pretty sure they had them listed as economy, daily driver, premium etc the way they do most other things when I bought them.

Iridiums don't light up as well as copper does; OTOH, you don't have to replace them as often.

It's a cost/benefit analysis.

For most people, unless you DO put like 40,000 miles a year on the truck, even platinum isn't that great a deal; copper lights up easier so it's the choice for maximum fuel economy and power.

DO note, however, that the performance range on most motors is a 1% to 3% variance ...

I'll keep it in mind for the next time I want to spend money on it. Ralph

Quality really isn't the issue. Sure, they are great plugs, just.... our trucks don't like 'em. I have seen phantom misfires on random cylinders, that simply go away after changing back to standard copper plugs.

What would cause that drastic a drop in MPG's in one tank? There were no signs of decline or poor running. I did cap wires plugs rotor in the last 1K and not long before that I put in a new O2 sensor. I haven't looked at it since I git home yesterday after noon. Oh yea 22gal tank
My guess someone stole some petro. Fill-up, drive 100 miles, fill-up. That'll tell ya

I had a little snot do that to a Mercedes sedan I had once. I drove two miles home and lost 1/2 a tank of fuel over night. He was driving down the road when all the diesel got into his injectors. Wiped out his injectors and fuel pump. Too bad that little Honda wasn't using nitrous when it did it. It might have blown the heads off.

Update.
Sorry didn't follow all instructions about not letting it run down and I have not put in new plugs etc since what I have are newish on miles not time in service. I ran it down until the light went on again. I'm gonna blame the quarantine.
Filled up yesterday. Took 19.2 gal which works out to 14.7mpg (283M on trip odo)
Which leaves me at 320+ for the full tank if I had to run it down further. That makes it back to "normal" for this truck. (94 Sport 2wd 3.9) I have to think it is down to my aggressive driving, low pressure in tires and bad gas quality that I ran out so many miles sooner last tank.
