Default Transmission Speedometer seal

I have the A500/42rh (904 w/ overdrive) on my 90 vert. It's started leaking around the speedometer sprocket in the tail of the transmission. I have not been able to find an o-ring/seal kit specifically for the A500 or 42rh. I see them for 908 and 727's, but I'm guessing with the overdrive assembly it's a different size? Can anyone point me to a source for these? My google searches have come up empty for A500/42rh sepecific seals.

Thanks

Actually - the same adapter was used, so the same seals were used.

The seals come as a set from Mopar - # 4057046 ( figure 21A-3700 in the parts list from the FAQ here).

With that info, you can find it many places; one such is at https://www.moparpartsoverstock.com/...chTerm=4057046 ; eBay has it for a bit more - https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-MOPAR-4...-/293375719795 .

Be sure to check with your local CDJR dealer, also.

Thanks Ralph. Unfortunately the Mopar link doesn't have the part...if you click the button in the link, it takes you to a different page with a replacement part of $80, but out of stock.

The ebay link I'll check into, but prior, I contacted these people and this is the part they said is correct

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw...id=m5467.l1311

It looks visually the same as mine, so for $7 I'll give it a try.

Is the output sensor that is leaking? Or the speed sensor housing that has a cable?

On a 1990? It's not a sensor that's leaking, it's a mechanical pinion drive.

The VSS bolts to the output.

It won't have anything TO leak until the speedo pinion gear housing leaks ...
