I see why you have to drop the tank again. For future reference lifting the bed is easier and you don't have to get the tank empty. There are 8 nuts 4 on each side. The gas fill tube to disconnect. If you are worried about the paint put a towel around the bumper in the back corners before lifting. You might also need to disconnect the wires at the clips near the rear license plate. You can see vids of it online to access your fuel pump. Then you only have to lift up the side and prop it with a milk crate or something to get at the fuel pump and the wiring. Having some jacks and scrap pieces of wood around will help.

Thank you, I have already planned on jacking up the bed. I just need to find the bolts, as the previous owner had a bed liner sprayed on. I’m sure they will be easy to find though. I printed out that part of the body chapter of the factory service manual. I’m just waiting for the pigtail and the weekend. I’m hoping to be able to just repair the rollover valve again. Otherwise I’ll have to go to the junk yard or make my own like someone else did on the forum.

They are 8 nuts on the bottom. The studs are welded to the box. There is nothing to see from on top. One in each corner and one either side of the wheels.Edit Maybe I should say front and back of the axle inboard of the wheel.

The truck decided to start today. I let her run for about ten minutes. When I would push the gas to rev her up she would go back to 8000 RPM then she would surge back to 20 for a hot second and the go back to 8. After that she maintained 8 then dipped down to almost 6. She did that a couple times went back to 8 and stayed until I revel the engine then she did the 8 quick surge to 10 and back to eight. What’s all that mean. I need the truck to be right. It’s Ben down three weeks now. I need my ride. Please help. Thank you

The tach on these machines is not the greatest. The 8 is 800, the 10 is 1000. Normal idle is about 800 for almost any vehicle. Since I put my new IAC and MAP in the tach is reading 400 but the motor sounds and feels fine. If I put the reader on it I am sure it would be 7 or 800.
It could be your throttle cable adjustment. The tiniest movement makes a big difference. But you should try to go by how it sounds and feels running and use that OBDII reader to see what actual rpms are.

My throttle cable is broke where it connects at the throttle body. It is just kind of wired on there. Need to go to pic a part and get another one

I just cam back to tell you about that. The end connector doe snot pull off as indicated in a lot of pictures .There is a pocket sort of thingy there that you have to pull forward toward the front of the truck to get it off the linkage.
I definitely recommend getting a correct cable. IDK about the relays.

Yes I’m aware of that. The end is broke that goes in there. I’m wanting to replace all the relays in the black box. The fuel pump, the asd, and the other three just because everything else is worn out. It can’t hurt. Are they all the same amps
