1995 3.9 won’t start no check engine light. Was running and cutting out / dying ... changed pickup in distributor,,, cam shaft sensor ... and coil ,,, for awhile I got the check engine light to come back on by wiggling pin connection at computer but now nothing ,,, is my ecm shot ? Any advice appreciated

Before thinking the ECM is shot, since wiggling the connector helped, I'd start off first cleaning the contacts - easiest is to

1) Disconnect the negative battery cable at the battery.
2) Disconnect the connector at the ECU.
3) Reconnect the connector at the ECU.
Repeat 2 and 3, a total of 3 or 4 times.
4) Reconnect negative battery cable.

That will wipe and polish the connectors, to knock down corrosion and oxidation on them; this will help if the problem is that there's corrosion and oxidation on the contacts (and let's be honest, it's 25 years old now!)

I'd also check on car-part.com and hollanderparts.com to see if I can find an ECU near and cheap, or shipable and cheap, for a swap.

Thanks I will give that a try. I haven’t been able to locate ecm yet but I havent looked too hard yet. I did clean every ground I could find in the engine area hoping it was something like that. I will let you know what I find out. Thanks again

Ralph, I did what you suggested. Check engine light on but I have a loose or bad wire in plug to ecm. How do I go about removing a pin and replacing it? Thanks so much

I'll say you didn't.

Blackish box, passenger inner fender.

How did you shake the connector if you didn't know where it was?

But for the pins - there are depinners/repinners available.

Alas, the one I swore I used, another person here had severe fits with ... so I'd have to recommend one of the big assortments to see which one works for you. Something like this set: https://smile.amazon.com/Terminal-Re...dp/B07V618SJQ/

Also, it helps if you have a bright light so you can see where the retaining tabs are.

Look at the thread https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...o-start-6.html for some information.

Ah. Wasn't clear from how you said that.

If nothing else, check car-part.com or hollanderparts.com for possible replacements (both are aggregator sites linked to multiple wrecking yards)
