Default Seat Belt Buckle Swap

My drivers seat belt buckle (where it latches into) is all fallen apart, still clicks into the buckle but the plastic housing is off of it so it's just a skeleton.

Wondering if anyone has swapped a rear buckle insert up to the front and if that would work? Doubt I'll ever have anyone riding in the back so would probably just do the swap for peace of mind on having a fully functioning belt for me driving.

You don't say what you have but if it came with a rear buckle, it has to have one.I'd head to the salvage yard and find one like yours.

Consider carefully.

The CLOTH webbing is as old as that plastic is; I would not trust it to hold me. Or you.

I bought brand new "generic" seat belts for my 1988 Dakota; helps my peace of mind tremendously.

Here's the ones I bought: https://www.wescoperformance.com/3-p...-enb-retr.html

I also got the mounting kit to get the L brackets.

It does all fit, although I was cussing a small bit getting it lined up enough to put the B pillar trim back on.

Default 93 dak

Aah my fault, have. 1993 club cab so should have rear belts, I’m considering the full assembly purchase instead but figured I’d look at swap options first if they’re all working well. Cloth webbing seems strong and functioning just the buckle that’s crumbling.

thanks for the links to check out an option for full replacement!

yup back ones in club cab same as front been there done that.... rears probably never used, if so probably a he11uva lot less wear and tear I forget which one it was (think it was my current 96) but it came to me with the belt cut.... though I rarely use a seat belt (yeah I know) figured it probably oughtta at least be there and functional
