Default 1993 dakota tail lights

I have a 93 dakota sport 2 wd v6 that i replaced the headlight switch on. If I slowly pull the switch on the tail lights will come on briefly but not headlight then. Pull all the way out and headlights, turn signals, and brakelights buit no dash or tail lights. What gives? THanks in advance,

Halfway out is parking lights and all the way is your headlights. Turning the **** may brighten or dim the dash lights. Did you put a Mopar switch or aftermarket in? I've had aftermarket that didn't work as well as factory parts. Chinesium parts are not a standard quality. Some work great. Others, not so much.

I too, am suspect of the switch. Did you buy local, where you may be able to try another?

I'd check the rotation to make sure the dash lights aren't just turned down all the way; but for the tail lights, the parking light circuit is on for both park and headlight; park is about 1/2 the way out; the other choice is that the connector is fried and there's enough wiggle on the switch that it makes/breaks the contact for the rear lights. (Do the front parking lights stay on? That's another touch point; they are both run off the same switch segment, but there's a splice on most years.)

Also, are the side markers on the front on when the headlights are on?
