Are you sure it would be the 124 inch frame and not the 112? Its just the basic pickup style, not the extended cab or bed.
Thank you for the link for the rust repair. It has the rocker panels, and new front fenders for a cheap price. My passenger side isn't that bad, but the driver side looks a little like swiss cheese.
Would I be able to put any transfer case behind the five speed for 4WD, or do I have to find an era matching case?

And *ahem* you'll need the 4x4 5 speed, and you'll have to find one that fits the transmission, and have the driveshafts made for you. Which ones? Beats the crap outta me! But that's what you'll have to do.
The front and rear diffs don't matter for 4WD/AWD; that's controlled by the transfer case!
Hrmm .... I'd check out what you could find in Grand Cherokees myself; they came with either 2WD (no transfer case), 4WD, or AWD. So might be able to find a AWD box; my friend has a 1996 with a AWD/4HI/4LO/N lever on it (says it's QuadraTrac, if that helps any.)

Do the grand cherokees even come with a six speed? All I found for them were just 4 seed automatics and 5 speed manuals. And the newer ones only have the automatic with the shifttronic crap.
Would it be possible to back a six speed 4x4 off of a Ram 2500? Its a diesel engine, so would the gearing in the transmission be okay with the V6 Magnum?
I thought a transmission was a transmission. Same thing with a transfer case, just strapped behind the transmission. What's the difference between a standard and a 4x4 model?

Tailshaft is the difference. 2wd trans has no provision to bolt the t-case up. Also, bellhousing bolt patterns are different from der diesel, to the 6 and 8 cylinder engine. I don't know if the six speed ever came behind a V-8..... so, finding a bellhousing that would work might be a problem.
