Default Air cleaner assembly

Hi all! I recently acquired a Dodge Dakota convertible that has probably more duct tape than there should be in the engine bay, lol. Today, I'm trying to figure out the air cleaner situation but seem to be missing some pieces. Does anyone have any pics they can share or clues so I can fill in the gaps?

Thanks for your help!

From the parts list (downloadable from a link in the FAQ message), page 14-400 shows call outs 5 and 10, which are missing; 5 is the valve in the air cleaner (that slotted hole in the top) and 10 is the exhaust heat riser tubing (nothing fancy). Without 10, all I'd do is tape over 5.

You're also missing the induction hose to the ECU; page 14-100 shows it as a "ESA Duct". This is possibly a small bit more critical, but the vehicle will run without it (it sucks air in around the ECU to keep it cool on hot summer days).

I'll try to get pics off my 1988; but I'm also missing the #10 callout, and the heat shield that fits around the passenger exhaust manifold to feed it. Don't worry about it much, don't think it gets that cold here in Louisiana.

Awesome, thanks for pointing me in the direction of the parts list - looks like a great resource!

I've taped off the holes in the hose for now and seems like that'll do the trick, ha. I'm in CT but not planning on driving this in the winter being the convertible and all, so the exhaust heat tubing and valve don't seem necessary, like you said. I'll look into the ESA duct to the ECU, but seems like it should be good enough in the meantime.

Thanks for your help!
