Default radiator fan with shut off

My brother just replace my father computer on his 1996 dodge Dakota and now his radiator fan won’t shut off? How do we shut it off or is this normal. Thanks for the help

Which motor? Also be nice to know which transmission and if 2WD or 4WD for suggestions, but I don't think that matters for an electric fan running. And I presume an electric fan; the clutch fan on the 3.9s and 5.2s are driven by the water pump drive, so if the fan is still running, it's because the motor's still running.

(I presume the 2.5 4 banger from the electric fan, but it'd be nice to have that confirmed.)

I presume that you've tried pulling the electric fan relay in the PDC under the hood? And possibly replacing it? (Swap with another relay for testing purposes.)

But the power to the fan relay is driven off the ignition switch; so I'd also consider checking that out. Since without it acting up, you'd not have 12V to run the fan relay.

The 1996 FSM is available from a link in the FAQ message; download that, open up section 8W, and go to page 8W-11-6.

I've attached that page here as a PDF for you to look at.
