1996 5.2L to 1993 3.9L swap
I decided to take my 5.2L motor and trans from my 96 Dakota and put it in my 93 Dakota. My 93 originally came with the 3.9 and I read that it wouldn’t be very hard to swap them over but I just got the motor and trans in and I used the 93 wiring harness at first but after hooking everything up my cab would have power but no power to anywhere else I put my harness from the 96 on the motor and it gets power to everything but it won’t turn over I understand the 96 has the OBD2 and the 93 has the OBD 1 so I took the dash out and switched over the inside harness as well and it still won’t turn over if I jump the solenoid on the starter it turns over but gets no spark any idea what I could be doing wrong?

Also - did you do a complete harness swap, inside and out?
There may be wiring differences in the steering column. Matter of fact, there ARE ... you may need to swap the column also to get the ignition switch wired up correctly.
Hrm ... the 1996 FSM is available from a link in the FAQ message, about 40% down. Grab that for the wiring from the 1996.
It shows the pinouts of all the connectors in section 8W-80; the bulk head is in 8W-80-7 and -8.
I've attached the bulkhead pinout for a 1993; do notice that you'll need the rest of the manual to figure out what's the same and what's different, since they give wire color and circuit ID, not what it does.
