1993 lift issues
I used torsion keys to raise my front end 3".
Used shock extenders both front and back.
I have new leave springs.
It rides at a nice height. But my front upper control arms now hit my shocks and bottom out on a portion of the frame. As if they are pushed too far down. And the top of the tire tips in at the top by maybe an inch. Maybe inch and a half.

To which I have to say, "Well, duh."
Cranking the keys doesn't fix the front end geometry, and if you didn't get it aligned afterwards, you'll have screwed up camber.
All you've actually done is run the truck up to the very top of the suspension travel, so there's no travel left upwards. And yes, they're pushed too far down.
So, yeah.

That's exactly what I thought.
What I'm looking for is a solution for maintaining the lift, while eliminating the "bottoming out" condition and also straightening my camber.
Is that something that an alignment will take care of? Dont mean to sound like an idiot, but what about a longer control arm?

IF you can find it, a lift spindle would be better, probably.
A longer control arm may help; but remember, you're screwing with the front end design. And screwing up the handling.
If you really want it that high, why not sell it and buy something that starts that high?

If I back off on the keys enough to get back some travel, is my only option for the height a body lift?
and what is that spindle you're talking about?
I like the truck. That's why I'm not selling it. It's half cannibalized as is.

It will also help the life of the CVs on the front axles, which are being tortured.
Why do you want it lifted? And why didn't you start with a body lift, if it's just for looks?

Hard on the cv axles is right!! They are destroyed right now.
guess I'll back off the keys and go with a body lift.
Any input into what type or brand for the lift.
Ive seen simple rubber blocks. Will they work?
any suggestions?
I know this all may seem a little silly but this is where i am at. I know I know.....i need the lift for the tires

Lift kits scare me. Just sayin'. I'd rather throw a milk crate on the driver's seat and be done with it.
Thanks everybody for your input. I must have been doing it wrong from the beginning.
At this point Im planning on backing off on the keys to avoid the bottoming out. Then look into a body lift. Any suggestions?
Besides buy a different truck.
