DOH! Palmforehead
OK I remember now I posted more recently in that thread about the door handles breaking and when I fixed it I realized I had tightened the nut too much and it was taht tension that broke it not a vandal. That moved it up to a more recent place in the list of threads. Here ya go Bronze https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...ndow-trim.html

Well, now that was an interesting read. You needed a lot of work. Your truck musta spent a lot of time in the sun.

Truthfully, I never looked at all the interior offerings on RockAuto. Did not realize there was still interior parts available. I wouldn't have a clue what color mine is. Is there a color code for the interior printed somewheres?

Also, I take it the photo of my cracked rubber below (missing in some places and nearly gone on the driver's side) is what you were referring to as the "beltline"? I guess I was under the impression no one stocks that anymore. In other words SOL.

Can't tell but that looks like the beltline which is what the OP is looking for.
It was supposedly kept inside a garage for ten years before I bought it. But apparently the original owner was in the southland. I have the impression out east where its a lot sunnier and hotter. I still have the dash carpet on it.

I replaced my beltline with the Precision beltline about 5 years ago and they're starting to degrade already. Not cracking but the felt is peeling off. Probably fine for garage-kept vehicles but unfortunately I think all this sort of stuff is gonna be DIY going forward. These trucks are harder than classics to find parts for.

Still, I don't plan on ever getting rid of mine. It'll likely go to a family member if it ever leaves me.

I’m like you. Gonna be hard to pry away my Dakota. It’ll be a ballfest if that ever happens.

Do you have a link for those beltlines? That would be a big help. Thanks.

Unfortunately they're out of stock and have been for who knows how long.

I purchased them from Precision directly but it appears they've been scrubbed from the site.

Thanks. I understood from some thread recently that these things were unfindable. Might have to figure out an alternative but truthfully nothing comes to mind.

Maybe a similar part from another vehicle that can be modified?

I'm sure it could. I don't think it would be difficult. If I keep mine another 5 years or so I'm gonna have to find out. Damn I wish I had a garage parking spot for this old thing.

As stupid as that part is, it's rather necessary, yuh know? Who wants their doors to rot out? Not me!

Mine is garage kept but it didn't stop mine from cracking off.

I sent Presision an email asking how much it would cost to do a run. I got my reply this morning.
"The reason we do not offer them now is the tooling is damaged. I looked into remaking it a few years ago and it was cost prohibitive.Since we have gotten more requests for these I will look at it again to see if we can make it work

Thank you
