I need a 1994 dodge dakota transmission. Its a rally sport v8. . My research has turned up that during this year the company put in two different types. So im at a loss. I can not locate the number or call code on the transmission. Does anyone have any real information. Please let me know.
Thank you
I'm not sure on the Dakotas but full size trucks had a build tag under the hood, and or in the glovebox that listed the basics, axles, engine, trans, ect
There are probably more than 2 transmissions that will work. But if you look on Rock Auto they have both the Automatic and Manual transmissions available for the 1994 5.2L. Compare and contrast with what you have if that is what you want to replace it with.
Also i looked for the sticker and even a stamped number any where and could not locate either one. And there is no manual. Can it be looked up by the vin by chance?

I bought a '93 similar to your truck back in 1993. There was a build sticker under the front of the hood on it. That should give you your build code.
I have a 1993 V8 magnum in my Dakota. It's the A518 automatic transmission now known as the 46RH. I'm not certain (someone else may know) but I believe they went to the 46RE when the OBD2 system was introduced. I think the first year for that was 1996?? But my tranny is specified on a sticker under the hood as was mentioned earlier in this thread.
Yes by Vin they should be able to, I've requested help of the dodge website and sent in my full vin and received the factory shipped equipment buildsheet, its rather basic, like someone sat down with MS Word and typed it out but it filled in the blanks I was missing, like a confirmation on my paint code since my drivers door was replaced at some point and has no sticker
