Default 1st Gen turns over but won't start No "check Engine" light.

I was lucky and found an obscure post when I had this problem. Just below the fuse distribution box under the hood inside the thick wrapped wiring harness (within 8 or 10 inches of the box) there is a splice where three red and white wires splice to one Red and white wire. This becomes corroded and will lose the connection stopping power to the ECU and the fuel pump. It's deep on the bottom of the harness and hard to find. It's a truck stopper and this should be a sticky as these trucks are getting older and older. This may apply to other gens I don't know.

Very common problem. I actually like your description better than any I’ve heard. Never been a problem on my ‘93. But then it’s garage-kept and I have that cloth-like harness wrap on it.
