1988 Dodge Dakota 2wd V6.

I'm burning alot of transmission fluid and it's smoking up through the engine. When it's sitting and cold only a tiny puddle forms under it. So it has to be leaking onto the exhaust somewhere?
Dipstick tube maybe? Im lost. Thanks in advance

 

The fluid burning off will leave a stain. Should be able to see it with a good flashlight.

 

See if you can find a fluorescent dye for transmission fluid. Get you a blacklight n the funky yellow glasses. Probably some videos you can watch.
