Default Front Lift with V8 Coil Springs

Hi, I'm wanting to lift the front of my 4 cylinder 1996 Dodge Dakota up about 2-3 inches and I have been weighing out the different options.
Here's my question. Can I lift the front of my truck up by installing coil springs made for a v6 or v8 truck? And will it have a similar result as installing a coil spring spacer would have?
I hope this is not too stupid a question

Yep. Should work exactly as you think. I would check what springs went with which engine though, as for some, they used the same springs..... One would think the V-8 springs would be stiff than the 4 cylinder though....
