Default Coolant temp gauge

Got a new issue as of lately, coolant temp gauge on dash is not reading it’s just not moving. I did recently replace the thermostat and housing and it was working for a bit then recently gauge stopped. Where should I start by replacing the thermostat again or could it be something else?

The sending unit for the dash gauge is right next to the thermostat housing on my 94. there is actually 2 sensors down there on either side of the housing on mine. One is for the dash the other is for the computer if I remember correctly. IDK which. I just changed them out when I did the plenum gasket. They were about 10 bucks then when Advanced was still Carquest. Anyway w/o other symptoms I'd change that out and see if it fixes the issue.

Get yourself the factory service manual from Bishko. They are the OE publisher of the manual. You can get it on CD for about $40 plus shipping. It is a lot better than a haynes or chilton.

Yeah, you will have two temp sensor. The one wire sensor is for the gauge in the dash. Two wire sensor is for the PCM.
