Default Heater fan

Just made a deal on a '96 Dakota Sport with the 3.9l. I've driven it a few hundered miles and found that the heater blower doesn't work at all. I took the dash apart and found that the fan was bad, so I replaced that but still no air. I have a maintenance manual, but the wiring diagrams suck. Can anybody send me some better diagrams or tell me where I can find them, preferably online?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Check the blower resistor. It is known to go bad. Located on the passenger firewall under the cowl. It is screwed into the firewall, and has a 5 bladed plug attached to it.

Let me second what Sneezer said about the blower resistors. I recently bought a 1989 3.9L that had a blower that didn't work; culprit was the resistor block[:@]. I've read that the part is sub $20 from the dealer. I was able to repair my own, here's a link to what I did: Resistor box fix

Autozone has some decent wiring diagrams online: http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBr...3d80113bc2.jsp

Regards,
Greg

You should be egtting 12 volts out of the blower switch on all speed positions.

Thanks for the input. I couldn't figure out what was controlling the speed on the fan when I had 12 volts going to it.

One of the wires was broken at the resistor, but hard to see burried in the connector. I now have heat!

Thanks for all the input.
