87-90 steering column repair

Default 87-90 steering column repair

I have an 88 sing cab 3.9 auto that i put a floor shifter in . It has tilt column and i have taken it out and disassembled it down to the tilt knuckle will be next and that is where the slop is so my question is this part repairable ???

I've searched everywhere around me and i will not do another online trash yard !!! I have over a thousand dollars put out on this truck in used online purchases and i have only received 1 part and the other 1 i had to drive 300 miles to get it after they took my money and promised to ship and the other 2 parts i never have gotten and have called police in there cities and was told not there problem so that's all the a alvage business i'll ever do but does anyone know any comp that rebuilds these columns

If you have the factory part number for the parts you need, google search on those, and see what sources you can come up with.... I would imagine they are long discontinued, but, someone may still have a few old stock.... Sometimes though, it's actually easier to simply replace the entire column......

yes sir i agree but at this moment the only one i could find was a salvage yard that took my 200 dollars and has no intention of sending the part if they even have it . It's hard to find a 87-90 2wd 4cyl manual steering dakota that hasn't been junked and that's the only option that came with manual steering that's the problem so it looks like i will have to adapt my parts truck column 1994 dakota it doesn't have any of the same wiring and because of the airbag the blinker switch won't hook up so i'll have to splice it all and i don't want that the truck is nice i put a 5.9mag 5sp man in it and a ford rear so i guess I'm screwed till i can find one or fix this tilt one that i don't want lol

And these are all saginaw columns 87-90 and the repair parts are dakota specific cause i have an 89d250that looks the same but inside it's diff
