It looks like Odessa sells recasted stock heads with stock valves but it doesn't say anything about how they flow or if they give more performance than stock, only that they're stronger than stock. I guess the compromise game starts because I either get stock stronger heads, or get better flowing heads that hurt now but could benefit later.

I think it was something like EQ Monster Magnums that had the choices. (Engine Quest?? Or something like that....)

Or not, went lookin', found nothing. only the 2.02 versions.

Oh well, sacrifices to be made like you said. In your experience, really how much am I going to lose if I went with the 2.02s vs the stock recast head?

Likely not as much as you are going to gain going to the larger motor. Probably a significant improvement. And the engine won't run out of breath at 4K RPM either with the air gap... Question becomes, how often do you rev the engine that high? If you like to play in the mud, yeah, the 2.02s will fit rather well.

Well with part of the build list being an LSD for the 8.25, I think it's safe to say some, shenanigans, will occur. I just want to make sure I'm not going to lose like 20 foot pounds in the low end going to the 2.02s vs if I kept the 1.920s. I don't really ever plan to tow anywhere near the capacity of the truck (even though its like 4300 pounds so not really much at all) but I do plan to use the 1410 pound payload a lot, so getting it moving even with the granny gear is going to need that torque.

Nah, nothing so drastic.
