Looks like the evap is leaking, all the freon was gone this morning no leaks under the hood. how big a job is this? have to pull the whole dash apart? anyway to short cut this process?

I told this guy it was a waste of money to do this, but he has to have a/c, Oh well it's his money.

I'm not familiar with the process on this vehicle but I'd be surprised if it didn't involved pulling the dash apart

I wonder if anybody has done an R&R with pictures and procedure. The shop manual leaves a little to be desired.

The easiest heater core I've ever done was an OBS ford, just drop a plastic panel and pull it out behind the glove box, next was an OBS (90s?) suburban, that had a panel that dropped out the bottom if i remember correctly. However ever Dodge I've done involved removing the dash and the Evaporator is usually tucked right in behind the, I think the Ford and Suburban required dash removal for the A/C side, but the heater was easy.

Heres a nice multi part video, might give some guidance

honestly to me the hardest part of these jobs is evacuating the A/C without a reclaimer. Fortunately I have part time access to one, my most experience is with 2nd gen trucks 98-02, I had one truck with a shot dash I tried the heater core the cheater way, it was not worth it, I find swivel heater cores sub par in quality even though that seems to be OEM standard on anything newer
