Looking for potential engine swaps for the first gens, looking to buy one for just this purpose and wanted to know the possibilities.

With ideas sticking mostly within OBD1 or OBD2 (at least up until 1996)

I’ve seen so far the common 318 discussion, read around a bit about 450/400, 350, LA’s.

Quite frankly I’m just looking for a sorta straightforward swap, though I am expecting some fun so yk I don’t really mean straightforward but please pitch some ideas.

For what it’s worth I’m looking to stay pretty modest with the modification, an automatic transmission setup preferably, as well as much plug and play anyone can recommend that is thorough

Swapped 318 with 360 from 2000 Durango into ‘95 Dakota. Performed interior runner delete from “keg” intake. Got ecu from ‘95 2500. Little truck runs like a raped ape!
