Default 91 dakota 318 2wd

Got a 51 ford f1 with all the parts from 91 dodge dakota 318 2wd push button o/d and my transmission started grinding when I put it in reverse then driving in first gear and it's locking up sometimes, I can put it in neutral when it does it then back in gear and most time that helps it, but what trans does it have incase I need one and what other years or vehicles have the same one ty

Comes back as a 46RH. Drop the pan, see what you find in there. My guess is..... crunchies....... likely rebuild time.

The bearer of bad new should always keep one foot in the stirrup.......
