A very expensive mistake resolved
Got it fixed.
Paid $90 to get the CAT welded back together because my stick welder is too hot. I will use the other new cat for a project on the little dodge.
I could not find an adapter to the Dynomax muffler. I asked a shop and they quoted me $50. When I got hme from that I stumbled across a piece of the old adapter that came with the original kit and I welded it back on to the CAT. Then there is the extra 2' long adapter they sent along with the original kit that I cut a 2.5" piece off and welded it to the oe adapter. The large end of that was too big and the narrow end fit the Dynomax perfect. It was a matter of wall thickness on the pipe really.
It is back together and working fine. I bought a Chicago electric flux core runs on 110 welder off CL. $75 and it came with a welding cart that can hold a full size bottle designed for a MIG welder. I had to grind the welds down because there was so much splatter and my welding vision is poor to be sure it was fully sealed. The arc and the voltage fluctuated from cold and sticking to blowing a hole in the pipe. The ones they have in HF now look different, this one is blue. IDK if that means they redesigned to solve these problems or just put new covers on the same ol junk. The flux core wire didn't seem to have much flux in it. Well that is what I figure caused so much splatter.

Does it have adjustable(****) for heat or a switch? Ditch the flux core and get a argon bottle with solid wire. Night and day difference in weld quality. Really can't adjust the heat with a switch, It's either hi or low. A **** you can adjust it along with the feed to not blow holes. You can drop the wire size down some also, It doesn't use as much heat to melt so less likely to heat up to much to get a hole.

EDIT- Read/skimmed the manual. There is no amperage control only wire feed speed control which is what that dial I adjusted w/o noticing a difference in wire feed speed,does. The min/max switch controls amperage a bit.
