Default Question About welding on Frame

Does anyone know if I need to disconnect the PCM 60-pin plug or do I have to remove the PCM from the vehicle ? Maybe just unbolt it and insulate it, so it doesn't contact any metal? Don't really want to mess with that plug again.
Thinking about welding some brackets on the outside of the frame for something like a belly pan or skid plates. Or maybe use some thread serts in thru the outside of the frame. Suggestions?

always use caution when welding, both structural integrity and electronics, I've had good luck just unhooking battery cables, but its quite often recommended to unplug modules and computers, kind of have to weigh the balance of risk to how much it costs to replace

If you are welding anywhere on the frame position the ground clamp right near where you will be welding. There for less likely to have any path near sensitive electronics. Unplugging everything is always a best bet.

Yeah, sure wouldn't want buy a PCM, that's for sure.
This the engine oil filter, wanted it away from the exhaust manifold. I would bolt a skid plate to these braces, they were easy to bolt in where the frame is a channel. Where the frame is boxed is where I would weld or use nut serts. I guess I should take some pictures of the routing and the fittings. Thats 1/2in .049 tubing and JIC 37 deg hydraulic fittings and maybe the tools I used in various spots.

I used a really neat RolAir eccentric roller flaring tool; the flares were so easy, I kept thinking I was doing something wrong.
