Ram 318 to dak?
Hey everyone, just need to know what is needed to put a 318 out of a ram, into a 1st gen dakota (318 is already out of ram). I'm not entirely sure of the year of the ram but I believe its in the early 1990's. Thanks for any help!
what was in the dak?
Probably motor mounts (maybe cross member), all engine electronics or switch it to a carb, flywheel/TC, blah blah blah. There's a bunch of stuff that you could need. Is this a free or really cheap 318? If not, might as well get the 360.

What year Dak? The 318 was available starting in 91, and 92 saw the magnum version introduced. The Shelby versions of the true GenI trucks had a 318, non magnum, but clearance was very tight and they had to use a pusher electric fan I think. Not enough room for the standard clutch fan.

shoulda went with the 360. kinda partial cuz im puttin one in my 96 dak. got my 46re the other day. would be alot easier for you if had a magnum motor. be careful if you have a 5 speed in that v6 dak. well the 318 wont have as much power as the 360, so you might be alright. good luck! need a little money and time to finish mine.
Yeah, the 360 would've been killer!... but i got a deal on this 318 and couldn't let it pass. I just picked it up and its out of a 88 ram. Comes with 4 spd standard tranny ... so I think after a bunch of research and time, I'll try my luck putting it in.
