Default Engine swap

I'm looking to put a 360 in my 92' Dakota, but I have some questions that I hope someone could answer. First of all some people say you can't fit a 360 in my truck, 92' Dakota 2WD, but if you can I was wondering what mods I would have to do to get it to fit, radiator suspension, ect. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

BS, it WILL fit.

What motor do you have now and what year parts do you plan on using. Let me know all this. I just did it in my 92 2wd. So I can tell you everything you need to know if its going from a 3.9. If its a 4 cyl, than I can give you a pretty good idea.

I did a 360 into my 95 last Summer, and I still have room for a person to lay in there. The only 'mods' I needed were the Schumacher motor mounts and a special oil pan. I actually have a picture of the engine on the link in my profile. It's from my phone, so it's not all that great, but it's good enough to get an idea.

I am slowly getting mine finished. The 360 has the same external dimensions as the 318. Same motor mounts. There are some quirks depending on the year block you get for the 360. Short list is flexplate, external balancer, PCM for a 93 Ram 360 is a good idea, 94-95 should also work, and new injectors, 21lb or higher. Other things you need to look out for are the TQ, various sensors and oil pan. You can reuse your stock pan, assuming you have a 318. Otherwise you need a pan from a Dak or Durango. The Ram and full size van will not clar the crossmember.

Ah, yes. I forgot to mention I used an LA 360. That's why I needed mounts and the oil pan.

I figured that was the case. Congrats on the swap too!

Its bigger. lol. and they are easier to get, there are more 318's on the road, thus there are more that go bad.

There really isn't much difference between the 318 and 360, as said, but..

I just thought a 360 sounded better in my Dakota, because they didn't come with them and I prefer to be different.
