Default temperature sender 1990 dakota

I have a 1990 dodge dakota - v6. The dashboard temperature gage does not work. The engine is warming up fine but the needle does not move on the gage. I purchased a temperature sender for the truck. My question is that I know there are two senders/sensors. One goes to the computer and I found that one(it has a plug with a clip etc...) I'm looking for the single wirte sender .Where is the sender on the engine as you look at the truck from the front?

The temp sensor is on the left next to the thermostat. You will need to remove the altnator to get good access. Be careful because I broke one off last week. Mine did not seat all the way in, but is does not leak.
