Default lowering

i am putting on some 17x9 inch rims on my 95 dakota and i want to lower it. what is the best way to lower my truck (lowering spindles, hangers, blocks)? and if i trim th econtrol arm before i lower will i have to trim it again after i lower it or should i wait to put the rims on? i just want to see what other guys have done and what works best.

I did 3inch blocks in the rear. Ran like 35 bucks at Auto Zone. For the front I put a 360 in it to drop it another 3. However, most people I know use the spindles. If you were looking to spend money, you could get custom leaf springs done instead of doing blocks. I did have problems with the blocks. The nipple on it broke off, sliding the block and making my truck dogwalk. (You won't notice it unless someone behinds you tells you.) If you go with blocks, make sure to check them every so often.

They make lowering shackles and hangers for first gens. Alot more reliable and better ride than blocks. Have ran blocks before but on S10. Cant lower mine lower mine at the moment, my wheels are a tad too wide. It may just be the tires though. When you do lower it put your wheels on and see if youll have to cut the control arms. That will also let you know where to cut them. I think i found the kit at belltec.com, not sure of spelling.
