Think I can help. pull your fuse block from the firewall. when off look at the back. you may find a corroded pin there. my cherokee and dakotas share the same wiring harness thanks to chrysler. the wire in question is your main power supply. it runs thru the block to the headlight switch. on my cherokee i bypassed the fuse block and direct wired the engine side wire to the cabin side thru a 30 amp fuse i mounted out in the engine compartment. i am several months down the road now and all of my electrical issues are gone. good luck.
