Hello Dakota fans! im new to these threads, but not to mother mopar. i currently own a 96 dakota with a 5.2l magnum 5 spd tranny, i've built the truck with the help of my other previous dakotas. my problem is i'm now down an engine do to an oiling prob. l would like to get her goin again so if anyone knows where i can get a new heart for my mopar i would appreciate it very much. Keep in mind too that i'm a poor boy.

 

Maybe its just too late for me, but are you talking about wanting a new oil pump, or a new motor?

You pose a good question.
If my memory serves me well, you can buy a remanufactured engine from some auto parts stores. You can also try looking thru junkyards. (Whatever route you go, they changed the design of the engines over to 'Magnum' in 1992, and the old ones were differant)
There are probably places online that sell engines too. Summitracing.com sells engines, as does Jegs.com.

 

You can try ebay... There are a few magnum engines on there you could check out. Some of 'em offer free shipping too, so it might be worth looking into.
