Hello Dakota family, I have a Dakota sport 94 and have been trying to find out what all those numbers mean on my fuse box.
It does not say headlights, AC etc it only has numbers so if someone could please send me a layout I will be very thankful or at least tell me where I can find this info. I have a Haynes repair manual but nothing about the fuse box layout.

Looks like this maybe do the trick, many thanks to you. I do have one other questions that maybe you can help me with, My heater\AC blower motor one quit working on low then med & now high I have been told that this is a fried resistor block that is either located under the dash or under the hood in some models. Any idea where it might be on a Dakota 94 model?

The blower motor resistor block. Ah, yes.
As pointed out in the 1st Gen FAQs (at the top of the Gen 1 main page), this is located on the passenger side of the firewall.
As shown in the picture:

Disconnect the electrical connector, and remove the screws. Remove bad block. Installation is reverse of removal. Pretty simple, which makes everyone happy .

 

Can this be purchased at a local automotive store or is this a dealer part only?
I am still learning what’s what you can and can't buy at the auto store

Hmm.. after a brief search, I could not find a blower resistor on NAPA or AutoZone's websites. However, that does not mean they do not carry them.
However, I have heard these resistors are only about $10 at the dealer, so, your not going to have to hand over an arm and leg to purchase.

 

4462841 RESISTOR, A/C
This is the dealer part number. NAPA may be starting to stock this part also. They burn up quite often because they are exposed to water and junk from under the truck. Check the connector and its wiring terminals for signs of excess heat, replace the connector if there are any problems or you will get even shorter life from the resistor.


The above part number crosses over to NAPA# ECHBR85
