1989-1990 4WD Transfer case
I was driving to work the other morning and I blew my 2wd high and my 4wd high range I can still drive in 4wd low range. The Clitons manual only covers how to remove the transfer case. What I am looking for is info on how to take the transfer case apart or on how to get a book to take it apart.
Any info would be great!!!!

Here is a link to a zip file that contains photos (14) from the 89 service manual for the NP231 Transfer Case:
http://rapidshare.de/files/33135611/..._case.zip.html
Use the free "select your download" button; it will take you to another page where you will have to wait about a minute. Then you will need to type in the code that appears for your download to start.
The file is close to 9 mb. Let me know if you need any better photos.
Autozone also has some info available on-line: http://autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker...3d801003b4.jsp

Greg

RE: 1989-1990 4WD Transfer case
I took the Transfer case apart and the only thing I found was that the wear pads were broken and in pieces off the range fork and the range fork was scored. So I have to replace the range fork, I also need the seals for the front and rear output. Does anyone know where I can get these parts? Also do I have to replace the chain? I am on a limited buget but I think I should put a new clutch since I do not know when it was changed. I can not really afford to replace the chain and the clutch, I have to choose one or the other. I do not really go four wheeling execpt I use the 4wd for the snow and when I go hunting.
