Default oil for manual transmission

I recently purchased a 1994 Dodge Dakota 3.9 manual transmission. I would like to change the transmission oil but not sure of the wt. Called several dealers . one dealer told me ATF another said 80wt. Checked a Chilton manual. According to then use 10w30. Any help in this matter would be appreciated. drc581

The 89 factory service manual reads 2 quarts (US) SAE 10W-30 engine oil for the NP2500 Overdrive 5-speed.
Regards,
Greg

For the AX15, use 75W-90. You will need about 3.5 quarts.
For the NV3500, use Mopar Manual Transmission Lubricant, P/N 4761526. You will need about 2 quarts.
I must say, the service manual stresses that the Mopar Manual Transmission Lubricant must be used where specified. Usually, the service manual will say something like "Mopar something-or-another or equivalent" but this doesn't.
